Usually, they are a shrub that is between 1-3m high, although we can find ways to lianas, even small trees.
If you are thinking of growing hydrangeas, the first thing you should do is find out how to be done. And, although Hortensia’s care is not too complicated, the slightest mistake could put your job on land.
We can help with that.
Meet care of hydrangeas
The hydrangeas should be planted in the spring or fall season. To do so, we must dig a hole deep enough; how this term is rather ambiguous, we can calculate a ratio of 2-3 times wider than the root ball of the plant root.
Hydrangea introduced into the hole, and fill dirt up half of it. Add water, and then the land is missing.
As for the separation between plants, we will have to leave 90cm-3m as we want to organize the space.
Probably the Hortensia care more difficult to control; If the plant does not get enough heat, you will not have the nutrients it needs to develop. But if this heat is excessive, you may end up asphyxiated.
The hydrangeas prefer morning sun or east. However, if the sun is abrasive in the area where you live, then you need to receive indirect sun.
Make sure you receive a minimum of 5 hours, as otherwise, they will never flourish.
In relation to temperature, hydrangeas can be developed only between 15 and 20 ° C. They can adapt to colder areas, but this will have to receive sufficient heat.
Another care of hydrangeas that should be studied in detail is the type of land that we use: the soil should be porous, be moist, and have a good level of drainage. In addition, the land is owed for adding manure and compost for the plant to evolve. The resource use of a mulch layer is very useful for the hydrangea retains moisture needed.
Avoid places that are exposed to windy as this external agent will negatively affect the growth of the plant.
The type of weathering depends on the temperature outside. If we live in hot climates or are in summer, it is normal to divide the irrigation three parts, and each adds a minimal amount of water.
But if we are in winter or on a particularly cold area, then you can spread one irrigation at a frequency of 14 days.
Type of fertilizer
The fertilizer will help the plant to flourish. Although it is true that we can find special fertilizer for hydrangeas care, we can always opt for fertilizer of the type 12-4-8 or type 10-10-10.
Important: Follow the instructions in detail for metering the fertilizer; If you add more product than you, this will damage the plant irreparably.
How to get the plant from spreading?
Here it is where you usually make more mistakes, so we explain in detail.
We have to start carving the roots, choosing a stem having about 15 cm or so, and to be flowers. Use sharp scissors to cut below the leaf node. We walked into hormones and planted it in a pot that has moist, fertile soil. Cover with a plastic bag and protect it from direct sunlight.
Simply check that the soil moisture is correct for 2-4 days, and about 2-4 weeks, the stem begins to form.
To kill pests such as fungi, slugs, greenfly, or aphid, there are special products like antifungal treatments, or even you can create your home insecticide. With these simple steps, you can avoid any problems of care hydrangeas, besides getting prolong the bloom as long as possible.
